For several decades, the Holy Spirit has been quietly renewing hearts and parishes across the nation through the Welcome Christ Renews His Parish (WCRHP) retreat. The process begins by attending a renewal weekend. Many who have attended describe the weekend as a uniquely and powerfully transformative experience for their faith and their life. WCRHP is the first step in helping people make sense of life. Most people have this nagging feeling that they want more out of life or that something is missing in their lives. They want to work this out, but they have no idea how or even where to start.
There are questions we all ask ourselves in different ways: Who am I? What am I here for? What matters most? What matters least? Welcome Christ Renews His Parish is a spiritual renewal weekend (Saturday 8am – 9pm & Sunday 8am – 3pm) designed to help you grow in your personal relationship with Jesus Christ. During the break from your daily routine, you will likely hear Him speak to you. You will join fellow Saint Joseph parishioners of varied backgrounds and faith levels for this rich and extraordinary experience. Your level of participation in the weekend’s activities is up to you. Immerse yourself in the weekend and allow yourself to be transformed.
Through fellowship, faith sharing, hospitality, music, individual and group activities, Mass, and more, you will have the opportunity to reflect on your life and your spiritual journey and build meaningful relationships with other men or women in the parish (Men and women attend separate weekends). Every adult member of St. Joseph parish is invited to attend. The weekend experiences are designed to help all of us respond to Christ’s call to a closer and deeper relationship with Him.
The retreat is held at the Parish Life Center (PLC) at St. Joseph. Wear something casual and comfortable. Jeans or sweats are acceptable, and layers are advisable. Meals, snacks, and drinks will be provided. Special dietary needs can be accommodated. Please let us know of any special needs when you register.
There is no cost for participation, although donations are welcome to defray the cost of the weekend.

Christ Renews His Parish began in 1969 at Holy Family Parish in Parma, Ohio, when Father John Jacoby gathered a group of parishioners to pray and plan for the spiritual renewal of their parish. The men formed a team, outlined a weekend of prayer and sharing, and lived together at the parish from Saturday morning until Sunday afternoon. The results were dramatic. The group witnessed what is called “numerous miracles of grace” and came away with a new appreciation of the love of God and the power of the Holy Spirit. Since those early days, hundreds of thousands of Catholic men and women, as well as people of other faith expressions, have taken part in this spiritual renewal process. In 2018, Dynamic Catholic absorbed and updated Christ Renews His Parish and has renamed it Welcome. Here at St. Joseph Parish we call it Welcome Christ Renews His Parish.
Registration is now open Men’s Fall 2024 retreat. We are only accepting waitlist signup for the Women’s Waitlist. To provide the best experience for participants, space is limited.
