Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA)
Inspiration: To proudly share the faith of the Roman Catholic Church.
He (Jesus) said to them “Go into the whole world and proclaim the gospel to every person.” (Mark 16:15)
Our Mission: To facilitate Catechumens (unbaptized adults) and Candidates (uncatechized Catholics) into full communion with the Catholic Church.
Our Catechists: We are always looking for dedicated members of St. Josephs Parish to share their faith with people interested in Roman Catholicism. We are always in the need for sponsors; Catholics who will journey with the interested parties offering their support, faith and friendship.
Meetings: Most Sundays during and after the 9 a.m. Mass to 11:00 a.m.
Activities:
- At the Sunday meetings, we discuss articles of faith and break open the Word of God for that particular Sunday and apply it to our own lives.
- We visit Our Lady of the Angels Cathedral, where the Cardinal holds a special liturgy for those people who are about to be newly initiated.
- A one day retreat at St. John Fisher, Palos Verdes.
