WORKSHOPS – Sundays (11am-1:30pm) (Includes mandatory 12:30pm Mass)
Grace Passes: All of the above activities are required for all Candidates. However, there are times when illness, family or other obligations can prevent a Candidate from attending a scheduled activity. Therefore, each Candidate will be given 3 Grace Passes to be used during the year. In order to use this pass, a parent must call Marc Leon prior to the event. Once a student uses 3 passes, it is expected that he/she will be at every scheduled activity. Grace Passes cannot be used for Confirmation 1 Retreat.
Confirmation 1 Overnight Retreat – March 1-3, 2019
SERVICE HOURS: Each Confirmation candidate must complete 20 hours of service work per year. Service Hour Sheets must be completed and turned in no later then April 28, 2019.
CONFIRMATION 1 INTERVIEW: will be on April 28, 2019 @ 2pm in the PLC. These are held at the end of the 1st year process to make sure all requirements are completed. This is also a time for you to evaluate the process – so that we can make it more meaningful for future students and sponsors. We want to know what helped you in your journey and what didn’t and how you might fix it!
SUNDAY MASS ATTENDANCE: The Mass and the Eucharist are the very center of our Catholic faith. The obligation to attend Sunday and Holy Day Masses and to avoid unnecessary work on those days is a responsibility for all Catholics. We expect all of our Candidates to understand and accept this rule, which is based on the Third Commandment. The Confirmation classes will attend 12:30pm Mass together on the days of their Confirmation workshops.
YOUTH MINISTRY PROGRAM: Each year Confirmation Candidates will be expected to attend at least one Youth Ministry Nights (Revelations) and/or Revelations events of their choosing.
SACRAMENT OF RECONCILIATION: All students are required to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation during both the seasons of Advent and Lent.
SAINT REPORTS: Confirmation 1 Candidates are required to present information about their Confirmation Name (Saint Name) at their 4th workshop on November 18, 2018.
VIRTUS REQUIREMENT: All parents are strongly recommended to complete the VIRTUS training program (child protection and safety). VIRTUS is a three hour in-person training that is held throughout the year at St. Joseph Parish and at other parishes in the Archdiocese.
