Finance Council Communication – May 2020

Dear St. Joseph Parishioners,

In response to a number of inquiries from parishioners about how St. Joseph is doing financially in the face of the Covid-19 situation, we have put together a brief summary.

The Archdiocese (ADLA) called upon all parish pastors to take immediate bold actions to reduce expenses. With the help and input of the Finance Council, Msgr. Kevin moved swiftly to reduce parish expenses wherever possible, including landscaping, maintenance, utilities, payroll and supplies.

Additionally, Msgr. Kevin and the Pastoral team applied for the CARES Act PayCheck Protection Program through the Small Business Association. We are happy to report that St. Joseph Church received a forgivable loan for approximately $70,000.

We are grateful to everyone for your continued financial support — we are currently running about 70% of our pre Covid-19 offertory collection. We would encourage you to give if you have not yet had an opportunity to do so, by mail, drop off at the parish office, or on the parish website through either Faith Direct Parish eGiving (recurring gift) or our new red Donate button for a one-time gift. During this time many of you have inquired and signed up for Faith Direct and our electronic giving program. During the next couple of weeks, you will receive a letter from Msgr. Kevin and Faith Direct about this stewardship opportunity.
